It was this unique maelstrom of creative passion and dedicated skill which lay the foundations for what would follow.
From their humble community beginnings the West Indian Cavaliers were faithful to their heritage. In 1994 they set up their official youth coaching programmes, the goal of this programme was find those diamonds in rough, untapped potential of young individuals who had more to offer than there disadvantaged lives would suggest. This programme began to produce and nurture exceptional cricketers and offer real opportunities to the young community.

As such the stars were born. Bilal shafayat exploded onto the scene and was just such an example as to why the clubs mantra was so important. Helping and moulding younger disadvantaged individuals, and crafting them into greats of the timeless game.
Bilal was a first team player as young as 12 years old and was playing for England Internationals under 19's as captain at 17. Later famously as England's 12th man seen standing up to Aussie Coach Ricky Ponting, unprecedented in history help see the turning point in English cricket against our age old nemesis. Bilal is now heading up our Academy this year 2018 ready produce more historic English figures of cricket.
Carrington is the newer club but by no means less important, established in the 2000's by Clinton Mike, it was to be the community hub to really focus on the raw talent of the up and coming youth. Primarily honed at giving the best opportunities to youth teams and having an historic past as Hyson Greens Boys Cricket Club, Carrington was set. Known admirably locally as the Police Headquarters grounds, The Carrington Oval already had a deep connection to its community and was primed for what was to come.

Back in the 1970's the West Indian Cavaliers were formed, for much of this time the club was ran by Tyron Browne, a dedicated cricket aficionado with a passion and vision for great things. It was this passion which has resulted in 13 Nottingham Premier League wins and in 2013 winning the double of both the League and the National Cup. Covid-19 Guidlines for 2020-21.

Now spring forward to today and these clubs like searching souls have found one another and created a club with shared passion, values and a community spirit like no other in the cricket community. The Cavaliers and Carrington Cricket Club is born.
